The G9 call is now open to the national and international art community
In 2026, the Szeklerland Graphic Art Biennial will be held for the ninth time, continuing its role as a significant international event in the field of contemporary graphic art. This edition, G9, is announced under the theme DISTORTION, reflecting on the visual and conceptual shifts that shape our contemporary world. As in previous years, the core exhibition of the biennial will be presented in Sfântu Gheorghe and Miercurea Ciuc.
The concept of “distortion” is a highly complex and multifaceted phenomenon: it may refer to physical transformation, psychological displacement or even metaphorical distortions in values and moral perspectives. In contemporary art ,including graphic art, distortion is not merely a formal or geometric deviation, but a powerful expressive tool that enables critical interpretations of social, political and cultural phenomena.
