MARCO POMA

PRINTMAKER

ABOUT

ME

Marco Poma (b. 1992, Chivasso, Italy) is a visual artist specializing in printmaking. From 2013 to 2019, he studied traditional printmaking techniques at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin.

In 2017, he spent a year at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia through the Erasmus Program, where he explored experimental approaches to printmaking and began engaging with an international artistic context.

After graduating, he moved to Florence in 2019 to attend the postgraduate specialization course at Il Bisonte Foundation – International School for the Study of Graphic Art. Immersed in its vibrant artistic environment, he refined his visual language and deepened his research into the expressive potential of the printed mark.

In 2020, he joined the Il Bisonte Foundation School as a Workshop Assistant, and since 2021, he has been working as Studio Manager and teacher, continuing his artistic practice alongside his educational work.

His visual research deals with the themes of waiting and silence, using traditional graphic techniques. The plate acts like a musical score, a page on which etched signs crowd into, marking the rhythm of a soundless speech. The resulting image in the print is a chance to describe this paradoxical concert, which spreads in a timeless time.
