BIENALE 2024.
SIXTH INTERNATIONAL BIENNIAL OF GRAPHICS organized by the Platform for the Promotion of the Art of Multi-Originals will be held in September 2024. The goal of the Biennale is to provide artists with institutional support in their professional advancement, to encourage and raise interest in this artistic discipline among other actors in art and culture, as well as among the wider audience at the national and international level.
GENERAL CONDITIONS OF THE COMPETITION
The competition is open to all professional artists, theoreticians and researchers, as well as to students in their final years of study at the faculties of fine and applied arts.
FIRST PHASE OF THE COMPETITION Lasts until April 1, 2024
The competition material can be downloaded from this page, filled out and sent to the Biennale's email address office@graphicacak.com. Exhibition categories in which authors can participate:
Works created using all traditional techniques and modern methods of printing or reproduction can be submitted to the competition, but reproductions and photographs will not be considered. Authors can also send spatial or ambient installations, works that stand in public space, video works that were created as a segment of graphic production or that form an independent work based on the character of the graphic discipline, objects, artists' books, works printed on different substrates or other works that represent a multi / interdisciplinary, hybrid, experimental or discursive approach to graphic art.
It is necessary that these works are permanent and that during the duration of the exhibition they will not deviate in physical permanence, unless the concept so provides. In the event that the works require special technical tasks and installation conditions, the authors are obliged to install themand the dismantling of the works is carried out personally. The organizer will provide space for the installation of work and basic technical support. For the specifics of each situation, authors can contact the organizer of the Biennale by email.
In the first phase of the competition, the authors must:
1. Fill out (computer) legibly and in detail each item in the application form that can be downloaded from the Biennale's official website:
2. Along with the completed form, they must attach digital reproductions of their works as digital files in JPEG format or TIFF formats with a resolution of 300 dpi.
3. The size of individual files must not exceed 5mb.
4. Send all the above-mentioned documentation to the email office@graphicacak.com with the following indication in the title "Application for the Biennale
2024 competition_name and surname of the author_category".

By submitting an application to the competition, the author gives his consent that the organizer of the Biennale has the right to exhibit, reproduce and publish his works for promotional purposes without the obligation to notify the author beforehand. The organizer undertakes that the author of the reproduced work will be duly named in all printed and electronic promotional announcements. Works created during the last two years are submitted to the competition. Works with which the authors applied for participation at the previous Biennale will not be accepted. ALL CANDIDATES WILL BE NOTIFIED BY EMAIL ABOUT THE RESULTS OF THE FIRST PHASE OF SELECTION no later than April 5, 2024. The results of the selection and the final list of authors and works will be published by April 10, 2024, on the Biennale's official website and on social networks. The main exhibition of the Biennale will traditionally be placed in the area of the Cultural Center and the National Museum in Čačak. The accompanying program of the Biennale will be announced during the competition.
SECOND PHASE OF THE COMPETITION Lasts until August 1, 2024
Authors whose works passed the first stage of selection should send their original graphics unfurnished, without frames or parspartue. Works must arrive at the designated address of the Biennale no later than August 1st (works received after that period will not be taken into account). When submitting works at this stage, a co-payment in the amount of 2,500.00 rsd for local authors and €40 for foreign authors is mandatory, which enables participation in all categories of the Biennale.

Authors send their papers by mail taking care of the following:
1. All necessary documentation can be downloaded from the link for DOMESTIC AUTHORS and FOREIGN AUTHORS
2. STATEMENT FOR SERBIAN AUTHORS and FOREIGN AUTHORS must also be attached in printed form.
3. ALL RELEVANT FIELDS in the form and declaration must be filled in by computer.
ENVELOPES - PACKAGES containing prints should have the following information:
"PRINTED MATTER" and "NO COMMERCIAL VALUE"

By submitting works, it is considered that the authors agree with the propositions of the Biennale, which they confirm by marking the appropriate box and their signature. The organization of the Biennale will be grateful to the authors who decide to donate their works to the collection fund of the Biennale collection. To donate a work, we ask artists to MARK THE PLACE IN THE FORM . The donated works become an inalienable part of the Collection and will be used for the purpose of organizing thematic or problematic periodical exhibitions.
If the original works deviate drastically artistically, aesthetically or technically from the description or reproductions submitted for the first stage of selection, the organizer reserves the right to disqualify them from the further selection and judging process for this reason. Only original works can be sent to the competition. Violation of copyright in any way is the sole responsibility of the person who submitted the work to the competition.

Applications and works received by mail after August 1, 2024 will not be considered.If necessary, when sending the works, state the value of the work in the MINIMUM amount. Send works as mail or as printed matter. Artists are responsible for all postage costs for sending works. The authors are obliged to provide all the necessary accompanying customs documentation and to pay for the service in full. Due to non-compliance with these provisions, the organizer of the Biennale will not bear the costs of postage and the obligation of additional engagement when the shipments arrive, and they will be automatically returned to the authors. Send works in hard packaging, cardboard tubes or other means of securing against physical damage. Any damage caused during transport from the author to the organizer will be recorded, photographed and forwarded to the author for review. The organizer assumes responsibility for the works from the moment of receipt to the moment of delivery at the post office, but will not bear responsibility for damage that may occur during the transport of the prints to and from the author. The works will be returned to the authors in their original packaging.

GRAN – AT THE BIENNALE a cash prize in the amount of €1,000.00 and an independent exhibition within the accompanying activities of the Seventh Biennale of Graphics in 2026
AWARD FOR INVENTIVENESS IN GRAPHIC ARTS AND TECHNICAL EXCELLENCEPlaque and medal of the Biennale.
SPECIAL JURY PRAISEPlaque and medal of the Biennale.
AWARD FOR STUDENT WORKPlaque and medal of the Biennale.
The jury reserves the right not to award all awards if it considers that the works are not of satisfactory quality. THE ORGANIZER LEAVES THE POSSIBILITY OF AWARDING PLAQUES AND MEDALS TO SOME MORE PARTICIPANTS.
The prizes will be awarded during the opening ceremony of the Biennale. If the award-winning author is prevented from attending the award ceremony, upon return of the works, a certificate of participation and confirmation of the award will be mailed to him/her with the exhibition catalogue.
CATALOGUE: The organizer of the Biennale will publish a catalog in which all the authors who participated in the Biennale will be represented. All exhibitors will receive a free copy of the catalog, a certificate of donation and participation in the Biennale.
